is it safe to put a baby in a Car Seat without a newborn insert?
I have just bought a car seat off ebay, which said that it came with a newborn insert (the padded bit that goes behind the baby's head, however, they didn't send it with the car seat. My baby is due today, and im getting worried that it wont be safe to put her in the car seat without it, and i cant find anywhere that sells them on there own. Its a maxi cosi car seat if that makes any difference.
Hi I have got the Maxi Cosi car seat and I have only just taken the newborn insert out and my baby is nearly 5 months old. You definitely need it to bring baby home from hospital in. E-mail the seller and get them to send it next day delivery it is their fault they forgot to send it. Even if you go into labour now you will not give birth for a few hrs and then after baby is born you will be in hospital for at least 2 days (I was in for 4 with no major complications) So don't worry just e-mail them and you will have it in plenty of time.
Just to add for the other answerers on the Maxi Cosi car seat it's not only a head support but it makes the whole seat smaller for the newborn they would not have much support without it at all.
