I just bought a PetFlys carrier recently, you may want to check and see if those appeal to you. It may or may not be the kind of carrier you're looking for.
They are kind of pricey though. And they are quite small (which makes sense, because they are made to go on airplanes under the seat). I got the "small" size for my dog (a papillon, under 7 pounds) and she didn't fit. I had to exchange for the largest size they carry.
